Message for parents

School is currently only open to pupils of Critical Workers & Vulnerable pupils – COVID-19

The DfE guidance for children of Critical Workers has changed since w/c 05/01/21 – “Children with at least one parent or carer who is a critical worker can go to school or college if required, but parents and carers should keep their children at home if they can.”

Home Learning


  • Ensure parents are clear about what their child/children are expected to do.
  • Ensure consistency of approach throughout the school.
  • To use home learning as a tool to help continue to raise standards of attainment and enjoyment of learning.
  • Improve the quality of the learning experience offered to pupils and to extend it beyond the classroom environment.
  • Provide opportunities for parents, children and the school to work together in partnership in relation to children’s learning.
  • Encourage pupils and their parents to share and enjoy learning experiences.
  • Reinforce work covered in class by providing further opportunities for the individual pupil.
  • To practice and consolidate basic skills and knowledge, especially in English and Maths.
  • Encourage children to develop the responsibility, confidence and self-discipline needed to study independently.
  • Research in preparation for future lessons.
  • To prepare year 6 pupils for the transition to secondary schools.
